A lack of explosions is exactly what the film does not have, if there is any element of action that Quantum of Solace has more than previous then that is it.

The only reason I hate bond films is because there's more cheese there than on the moon.

If this is lacking a "real" bond girl, whatever that means, and a load of explosions, I may go and see it.
As long as it doesn't have half the movie set in a frickin' poker game, it hopefully won't be as bad as the last. :)

I saw the film last night, and I do have to agree, it was quite bad. I have never been one for Bond films myself, but this one was bad. There wasn't much storyline, even. Too much action, I thought, no real story and it was difficult to follow. Anyway, bye!

Well I can't deny that, in general, Bond films have that element. I have certainly seen a lot of press lately that laments the passing of such iconic elements from not one but now two episodes of the franchise.

From that perspective, I can imagine that if one expects it one might be disappointed. Fortunately having read all this before going to see it, I couldn't possibly be disappointed. :)

The implicit rule of what has gone on before, and this is my opinion so you must bear in mind that it obviously may differ to what you think - maybe I wasn't as clear as possible though.

Perhaps you are correct regarding your second point, but the film was remarkably dry (in my opinion). Again, it was my expectation to see action and, as you put it, "gratuitous sex" - and perhaps this led to my disappointment. It was simply not what I personally expected from a Bond film, your mileage may, of course, vary.

"Bond films are supposed to be one offs"

According to whom? Is this a written law somewhere or just the implicit rule of what has gone before?

"Another somewhat lacking feature was that there was no real Bond girl, no wild sex scenes, and most importantly no romantic ending."

I hate to say it, but you give the impression that the worst thing about the film in your opinion was a lack of blind action and a lack of gratuitous sex: the two things that I feel are becoming horrifically template in the film industry these days. I haven't seen QoS yet (and I have seen so many negative reviews that I doubt I'll find it enthralling) but even so I have a sneaking suspicion that it will be refreshing to see a film that doesn't require explosions and naked women to make it work.

A very good idea, although I think it would be more hassle explaining it to the teacher than actually doing the homework! The teacher insists that if you don't have internet access at home then you should do it in the library or stay behind at the after school maths session on Thursdays. These are both quite unfair options, and I agree that people without internet access should not be expected to do the work during their lunchtimes.

What do they do if you have no interweb access at home? If all the subjects are doing it they can't expect you to do it on school computers at lunch can they? Maybe you need to "accidentally" get your router to block the site.
