I would like to apologise
A while ago I posted about the Apple iPhone 3G and how disappointed I was with it. Well, it seams that various facts were overlooked by me. It turns out that O2 will be releasing a “Pay and Go” package for the iPhone, this means that many of the issues are no longer true. One thing that I will be looking forward to hearing about are the costs, while I am aware of the prices being dramatically reduced in the US, I wonder if such a price drop will be experienced here in the UK - and if it will be equally great.
Once again, my sincerest apologies for coming to an opinion without knowing all the facts; thank you Apple and O2 for making this wise decision.

I’ve become somewhat immune to outrageous locking in (due to contracts) from evil companies of late because really they’re all just corrupt capitalist organisations anyway. So it isn’t a huge surprise - Apple are particularly bad for it, of course, forcing you to use the iTunes software.
I still intend to get the iPhone 3G though for £99 when I turn 18 and I don’t think the contract is more expensive; there is a cheaper option now at £30. Internet access on PAYG? No thanks, I’d rather have unlimited on contract.

You are right that internet access via Pay As You Go is very costly, although it can be expected on all phones (admittidley the iPhone is more internet oriented); on the other hand my budget is severely limited - I spend less than £5 a month on credit and am severely cash limited. Having the a proper internet browser almost anywhere in the country, on demand, is an amazing feature; although this has to be balanced by actual text and phone usage and how much disposable income you have.
